A Day of Firsts, part 3

Our day concluded with a trip to the doctor's office for Nora's 6-week check-up (she's actually 7 weeks old) and her first set of shots. She was a trooper and only cried for a few seconds.

Here are her stats:
weight - 10 lbs. 9 oz. (65th percentile)
length - 23 3/4 in. (95th percentile)
head - 38 cm (50th percentile)
At 7 weeks, Nora:
-rolled over yesterday!
-recognizes Jason, Anne Parks, and me.
-swats at things.
-laughs, smiles, and coos.
-holds her head up well.
-is still waking up at 11:30, 2:30, and 5:30 each night.

A Whole New World

Anne Parks is still princess-obsessed. She entertained us on our way home from Starkville this weekend by singing to her Jasmine doll. Enjoy. I know Jason and I did!

Sturgis

On Saturday, we took our first roadtrip as a family of four to the Stugis South Motorcycle Rally just outside of Starkville. I'd always heard about the rally and seen the myriad bikers riding through Starkville each year, but I couldn't believe my eyes at just how many bikes were in the small town of Sturgis this weekend.
Jason and I are not bikers, but we made our way to Sturgis to spend some time with our friends Jessi and Creighton. They had booth selling t-shirts and posters (like this one we had in April). Their designs are great, and we had a great time shopping the booth and hanging out. I hope Jessi can talk Creighton into doing the Canton Flea Market!

Farmer Day

Anne Parks had "farmer day" at school last week. She was very proud of her overalls and pigtails!

Poor Libby

Libby had to visit the vet this week with a swollen ear. It turns out, she had an ear infection and shook her head so hard that a blood vessel burst. This is what she looked like when she returned home. After a good scrubbing, she's been hanging out inside and has finally figured out how to manuever with that cone on her head. It's so sad.

Personality

Nora has really changing. She doesn't look much like her sister anymore, and she's really starting to have a personality. She's smiling and cooing her little heart out.

Swimming with Uncle Drew

Andrew left for LA this morning. We're all a little sad, but very excited about his adventure. Anne Parks will certainly miss Uncle Drew. He surprised her at school this week. He and his friend, Kelly, picked her up and took her swimming. She had a great time. When she got home she told me, "Mama, I'm so happy! I've had a happy day!"

Snug in a Sling

I love the Eddie Bauer baby sling! Nora does too! She snuggles right in and is content to ride around against my belly, and I'm free to cook dinner, make beds, or even blog!
