The night before the big game, she said she was couldn't sleep because she was so excited about her "soccer program". When I told her that it was actually a game and that another team would be there to play against her, she couldn't believe it! We talked about important aspects of the game like how she shouldn't get her feelings hurt if she got pushed or if the referee blew his whistle at her. I also reminded her not to do cartwheels during a game - something she liked to do at practice, and that it was not only okay to take the ball from the other team, but that she should try to do it.
Well, this girl went on to score 5 points (some of them by stealing from the other team)! We were so proud (and surprised)!
