Pepperolly

Friday was homecoming at JA, and Anne Parks got to go to her first pep rally (or, as she called it, pepperolly - kinda like pepperoni). She was very excited and proud of her cheerleader uniform, but with all of our cheering for the Bulldogs and the Eagles, she was a little confused. On our way to school, she said, "Hey Mama, what's that team we're cheering for today?"
The pep rally was exciting with cheerleaders, dancers, and the band. It was pretty overwhelming for the 3 year-olds. I promise Anne Parks had fun, even though she looks pretty sad in these pics.

Sweet Dreams

Anne Parks likes to "read" after I tuck her in at night. This is what I found when I went up later to check on her. I turned around and immediately got my camera. Sweet, huh?

Anne Parks and Cousin Smith have so much fun playing together despite their age difference. Also despite the age difference, they are just about the same size!

Nora

In One Ear...

A year ago, Anne Parks had tubes put in her ears. You might remember it from this post. They were great and did their job. She didn't have any ear infections...until about 3 months ago. Since then, she hasn't been able to shake the infection in her left ear. It turns out that the tube in her right ear had fallen out (like it was supposed to) as her ear matured, but the left was still in and turned sideways and was causing all her problems. So, last Tuesday, we went in to have the tube removed.
Anne Parks was a great patient. They gave her some medicine to make her relax before wheeling her into the operating room. Can you look at the pictures and tell when it kicked in?

Then, she just go sillier and sillier.

Finally, we had to hold her because we were afraid she was going to flip right off the bed.

They wheeled her away, and about 15 minutes later, they were finished. We came home, and she didn't even take a nap. She's been feeling great ever since!

Photography Class #1: In the Classroom

My husband is awesome!

I've been talking about want a fancy camera for a while, but I always said that if I got one, I'd need to take a class because I'm clueless when it comes to photography. Well, when I got home from a particularly hard day at work last week, Jason surprised me with a Canon Rebel XSI. He'd also signed me up for Basic Photography at Holmes Community College.

I had my first class Monday night and loved it! We learned the basics of lighting, speed, composition, etc. Then, we were sent out into the hall to practice what we'd learned. These are some of my first photographs.

Next week, we're taking outdoor portraits (if the rain stays away), and I'll be taking my girls as models. I hope you'll notice that my photos are getting better over the next few weeks! I'll keep you posted!

On Thursdays, Anne Parks is in a TOT class where she's learning basketball handling skills along with many other things. When she has basketball, she wears her shorts and her new "fast" shoes.

MSU vs. Jackson State

I'm a little behind on posting these pics, but things are pretty hectic around here. I've started a taking a class and have a new job that I'm getting used to, and AP had a tube removed from her ear yesterday. I'll be posting about all that stuff soon, but these are some pics that I'd already uploaded...
Traffic was CRAZY on the way to the game. We all rode in my mom's Suburban. It took us an hour to get to the tailgate from my sister's house (about 5 miles away). It worked to our advantage, though. All the kids took a nap (Nora's in the center).

We had a great time at the tailgate but didn't see much of the game because of the rain. I hope the next one's sunny!
