Disney: Day 2

After a good night's sleep to recuperate from the long drive, we rose early to hit the Magic Kingdom. I couldn't wait for Anne Parks to really see Disney World.

The girls wore matching outfits each day. You'll see an I.D. tag hanging around their necks, too. They were Jason's dad's idea. He made each of the girls a tag with their name, picture (Maggie in a Minnie costume and AP dressed as Dorothy), and our phone numbers on them just in cases we were separated - very smart and the girls were proud of them.

The first character we ran into was Pinocchio. Maggie was a little timid, so Aaron joined in the picture.

As we approached Cinderella's castle, we saw that a show was in progress. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella were on stage, each dancing with her prince. This was Anne Parks' reaction. It was well worth the 12-hour drive.

Then Malificent showed up in a cloud of smoke. For those of you who don't know these things, Malificent is the bad witch in Sleeping Beauty who curses the baby Aurora. She's very scary as far as Disney bad guys go...

as you can see by Anne Parks' reaction. We had to explain that no one could really be bad at Disney World and they were just pretending.

Matching Cousins (planned) and Daddies (not planned)

Maggie had been to Disney a few times before and had told Anne Parks that the pink teacups were the best. So, after waiting in line and having to settle for a purple one, this was Anne Parks' reaction.

But, then the ride started and her expression immediately changed, and she loved the ride in the end.

We rented a stroller for the girls, but most of the time we just used it to push our bags around.

We ran into Cinderella's stepmother and her two stepsisters. They were hilarious. One of the sisters wore her bow right on top of her head. She told Anne Parks and Maggie that they weren't wearing theirs the right way, so she redid them.

Our first glimpse at the newbies - Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen

Anne Parks ready and waiting outside the castle for dinner with Cinderella

Cinderella, Cinderella, and Cinderella

Dinner in the castle was great. The food was wonderful, the girls got magic wands, and Fairy Godmother came out and sang while the mice joined her in dancing.

After dinner, we had the girls' silhouettes done.

The castle lit up at night was just - what else can I say but "magical"!
